Punch grafting is a procedure in which deeper scars (generally on face) can be filled with a matching skin grafted from other part of the body. Generally the donor skin will be taken from back of the ear.

It's always better to contact an experienced cosmetic/plastic surgeon for consultation and treatment of deep scares. He will suggest if punch grafting procedure suits you or not.

Punch grafting procedure: A small tool specially designed for punch grafting is used to punch a hole in the skin to remove the scar. Afterward a matching skin graft taken from other part of the body is used to fill the hole.

This procedure doesn't erase the scar completely but less visible compared the original scar. Another negative point is the skin graft may have different color than the surrounding skin
